[1] Goals

• For students with English Education major: Our program is designed to enhance the theoretical knowledge and expertise of current and aspiring English teachers who hold teaching certification, and to produce English education specialists who possess the ability to conduct scholarly research. The ultimate goal is to facilitate the development and deployment of proficient and professional English teachers.
• For students with non-Engilsh Education major: 

  Our program is designed for students who did not major in English education or related fields in their undergraduate studies, but who have a goal of becoming English education specialists. The program aims to impart knowledge of English education and related subjects, as well as to cultivate the ability to conduct scholarly research, in order to produce highly qualified researchers in the field of English education.

[2] Eligibility for application:

1. 01Individuals who have graduated or are expected to graduate from a related field in the English education department.

Individuals who wish to specialize in English education, English literature, or English linguistics WITHOUT having graduated or being expected to graduate from a non-related field in the Engilsh education. Note that an evaluation to test English languaeg ability may be conducted during the interview process.

[3] Minimum credits required for completion: A total of 24 credits (3 credits of Seminar, 3 departmental credits of Common courses, 9 credits of Major courses)

[4] Qualification Exam

1. 01Eligible candidates: Individuals who have obtained 18 credits or more and have received a recommendation from a supervising professor.
2. 02When to apply: March in Spring semester, September in Fall semester (Note: Refer to the academic calendar for more information. The date of the qualification exam will be announced in the academic calendar each year. ).
3. 03How to apply: 차세대종합정보시스템에서 신청.
4. 04Exam subjects (courses): The qualification exam committee (consisting of three professionals including the supervising professor) will issue questions related to the student's thesis field. 종합시험 출제 위원회(지도교수를 포함한 3인)에서 학생의 논문 분야와 관련하여 문제를 출제함.
5. 05Pass marks: A minimum score of 70 out of 100 points for each subject. 각 과목당 100점 만점에 70점 이상.

[5] Language(English) exam

TMinium requirements: TOEIC 800, TOEFL 91(IBT), TEPS 640, or IELTS 6.0

[6] Presentation of Master's thesis

1. 01The presenter of the degree thesis must submit the entire thesis to the presentation date two weeks in advance.
2. 02The presenter will be confirmed one week after the review of the thesis, provided that it is approved by a majority of the departmental thesis committee.
3. 03The thesis presentation will be held attended by graduate students in the Master's and Doctoral programs, as well as faculty members from the department including the supervising professor.

[7] Eligibility requirements for thesis submission

1. 01Completion of 24 credits in the Master's program coursework.
2. 02Passing the comprehensive examination and foreign language examination requirements.
