[2] English education major in the Graduate School at GNU: M.A. & Ph.D programs

Our graduate programs in English education offer a thorough education in the field of teaching English as a second or foreign language to prospective students. The programs are designed to provide a comprehensive curriculum that covers a wide range of relevant subjects, including second language acquisition, curriculum development, language assessment, instructional methods, and applied linguistics.

The Dept. of English Education offers two distinct branches of graduate programs: one specializing in the teaching of English and teacher training as a second or foreign language, and the other focusing more on research skills in English education.

The special purpose program [1] is designed for those who wish to gain expertise in teaching English to speakers of other languages and to develop advanced skills in curriculum development, instructional methods, and language assessment. The general graduate program [2], on the other hand, emphasizes research skills and provides students with the opportunity to delve deeply into the latest theories and practices in the field of English language education. Both programs offer a challenging and enriching educational experience and prepare students for successful careers in English education.

- Completing this degree program will provide the necessary skills and knowledge to embark on a professional career as an English language teacher or researcher, or to enhance one's current career with a deeper understanding of best practices in English language education.
